Suguta Valley Odyssey

Experience Suguta Valley, one of the hottest places in Kenya and sensationally nicknamed ‘The Valley of Death. This adventurous trip to the North takes you through a part of the Rift Valley filled with incredibly diverse destinations ranging from Deserts, alkaline lakes with flamingos, active volcanoes, Mega calderas to the beautiful blue shores of Lake Turkana. A game drive at the Samburu national park, along the Ewaso Nyiro River, crowns it all.

Dates: 26th December – 2nd January 2021

Itinerary Summary

Day 1: Nairobi – Maralal
We assemble as early as 4.00 am at pickup point to leave for the North, a trip to Maralal whilst enjoying the scenic roads and smooth drives up north. We arrive at our camping site and settle for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Maralal to Suguta
We rise extremely early for a great morning breakfast. Then take the roads to experience the Beaute offered in the North, the views of the Suguta escarpment whose site is always giving, and the pink lake, famously known for its glistening pink nature, almost picture-perfect. The terrain and tour will lead us to where we will be camping for the night.

Day 3: Suguta
Today, we explore Suguta a hidden gem in the north. The area has so much to offer from its sand dunes that are not only sizably attractive they’re a site to behold to the Suguta mud flats, Suguta in its own way appeals by its natural presence of sands that are formidably beautiful, here we recommend picture moments !! Kindly binge on that camera mercilessly. After an adventurous experience, we head back to our camping site.

Day 4:Suguta to Parkati to Lake Logipi to Tuum
Breakfast beckons as the sun rises and we oblige readily to face the giving nature of Suguta. On this day we will vastly explore Parkati and head on out to the famous Lake Logipi then end up at Tuum. Within the day’s experience we will be able to view the birding -flamingoes of pink Lake, then get a closer viewing of Teleki Volcanoes. We will call it a day and head back to our camping site in Tuum for the night.

Day 5:Tuum to Loiyangalani
The rise and shine of the North are magical, Tuum offers nothing less. After a heavy breakfast, we will take the sandy roads to the famous crater of Nabiyotum then head on straight to the scenic Lake Turkana for a nice afternoon experience. Sundowner at lake Turkana.

Day 6:Loiyangalani
After breakfast, we head to South Island National Park, where we will interact with the wild, have know-how on how the Island National Park facilitates, and better yet a pictorial day as the picturesque nature of the National Park is a worthy call. Once done with the tour we proceed to the shores of Lake Turkana for a swim and sundowner before heading back to our hotel for a delicious dinner before calling it a night.

Day 7: Loiyangalani to Samburu
We rise up and early to go to Samburu National Park. The game Drive within the park is always rewarding, viewing the animals and experiencing nature in the North will definitely be welcomed. Highly recommend carrying extra cameras for this natural giver aka Samburu National Park. Dinner and overnight at a budget lodge in Samburu.

Day 8:Samburu to Nairobi
Every great thing comes to an end, but luckily the memories live longer. We rise up early have a delicious breakfast and head out to Nairobi to arrive early in the evening. We will have a designated stop for lunch.

  3. Proper Comfortable outdoor Shoes
  4. Sandals
  5. Swimming costumes
  6. Drinks and Beverages: We have Sundowners. Carry adequate drinks to contribute.
  7. Sunhat/ sunscreen/Sunglasses

  10. Snacks eg. Crisps, biscuits, Sweets, cookies to last the trip
