Port Elizabeth to Cape Town

The Garden Route is rated as among the most scenic drives in the world. This tour will take you by road from Port Elizabeth South Africa to the mother capital Cape Town while going through some of the most beautiful South African towns with vibrant cultures. The route is renowned for its lush forests, dramatic cliffs, picturesque beaches, and diverse wildlife.

Expedition Itinerary

Day 1: 13 October: Fly to Johannesburg then to Port Elizabeth and  Drive to Jeffrey’s Bay.
Our trip starts with a flight to Johannesburg followed by a connecting local flight to Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport. Collect your vehicle at the airport and drive past Port Elizabeth to Jeffrey’s Bay.

Day 2: 14th Oct: Jeffreys Bay to Storms River
After breakfast, start your adrenaline-packed day with an exhilarating sky-diving experience at Jeffreys Bay. Next head to Bloukrans Bridge home to face Adrenaline bungee. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you leap from Africa’s highest commercial bungee-jumping bridge in the world, standing at 216 meters (709 feet) above the Bloukrans River.
Afterward, unwind with a leisurely afternoon at Tshitshikama National Park, exploring its lush forests, go for a swim in the sea, walk along the beach, and cross the Storm’s River suspension bridge for stunning views of the crashing waves.

Day 3: 15th Oct: Storms River to Knysna
Embark on an adventurous journey from Storms River to Knysna, starting with an exhilarating canopy tour in Tsitsikamma, where you’ll zip through the treetops and soak in breathtaking views of the forest canopy.
Head out for black water tubing experience down the Storms River, navigating through ancient gorges and lush vegetation.
Afterward, continuing along the Garden Route, take a scenic drive through the charming coastal towns, with a lunch stopover at Plettenberg Bay.
Later, drive to Knysna arriving in the late afternoon. Unwind with an evening stroll along the famous Knysna Waterfront, sampling fresh seafood and enjoying panoramic views of the lagoon before settling in for the night.

Day 4: 16th Oct: Knysna to Oudtshoorn
Today we begin our journey from Knysna to Oudtshoorn, with a drive to the East Head viewpoint in Knysna, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Indian Ocean meeting the Knysna lagoon. After the stunning scenery, we hit the road and venture through the picturesque Outeniqua Pass, where you will be surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes along the way.
Along the way, we make a stop at the Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn, where you can encounter a variety of exotic animals up close, including cheetahs and crocodiles. Afterwards, we tour the Cango Caves, marveling at the intricate limestone formations deep underground. Conclude your day with a visit to an ostrich farm, where you can learn about these fascinating birds and even try your hand at ostrich riding.

Day 5: 17th Oct: Oudtshoorn to Cape Agulhas, Southernmost Point in Africa
Leave Oudtshoorn in the morning and head towards Cape Agulhas, starting your day with a scenic drive through the countryside, where you’ll pass by the iconic Ronnies sex shop, a quirky landmark along the way. We continue with our adventure to the southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. Take in the mesmerizing sight of these two vast oceans merging, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. Explore the rugged coastline and enjoy the beauty of this remote and remarkable destination before proceeding to check into our home for the night.

Day6:18th Oct: Cape Agulhas to Hermanus to Franshoek to Stellenbosch to Cape Town
Today we begin the day with a visit to Hermanus in the morning for a thrilling whale-watching experience, where you can witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
We then head out to the Winelands regions and tour Franschhoek, renowned for its exquisite wines and picturesque vineyards. Next, arrive in Stellenbosch, a charming town known for its historic Cape Dutch architecture and world-class wineries.
Enjoy a wine-tasting and cellar tour at one of the many renowned wine estates in the area. Some popular options include Spier, Delaire Graff, and Rust en Vrede.
Take a break for lunch in Stellenbosch and savor the local cuisine paired with excellent wines. Later, depart Stellenbosch and drive to Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town and check into our accommodation!

Day 7: 19th Oct: Cape Town
Explore Cape Town:  Table Mountain, Drive and take photos at Bookap, Paragliding from Signal Hill, Robben Island,  Lions Head Sunset, and the magnificent V&A Waterfront.

Day 8: 20th October: Sanlam Cape Town Marathon 
Marathon Day and also a day to catch up on Cape Town activities if not running.

Day 9: 21st  Oct: Cape Town
Explore Cape Town Nelson Mandela Tour, Cape of Good Hope with a stop by the Boulders Beach Penguins Colony, Table Mountain cable Car, Long Street for a party, and Shopping at Factory Outlets.

Day 10:22nd October: Fly Out
Fly out of Cape Town to Nairobi.
