Mountain Madness Ultra (MMU) 2024
Location: Eburu Ranges, Maiella Naivasha
The Mountain Madness Ultra is a mountain running challenge set on the farthest end of the Mau ranges. Lying at the boundary of Nakuru and Narok County the hills form a boundary between the drier Kongoni side of Naivasha and the wheat farms of Narok.
The trails will weave through the surrounding farmlands with jaw-dropping 360-degree views to Lake Naivasha.

Day and overnight race shuttle options are available but subject to uptake by minimum number of runners.

Self-Drive
For those seeking to self-drive, you are advised that there will be a 20km stretch of rough road so be mindful of the type of car you use on the day. Good clearance is strongly recommended.
Drive from Nairobi to Naivasha and turn on to South Lake road. Drive to the end of the tarmack road at the Kongoni Shopping centre just after Oserian flower farms and Osengereni Conservancy. Turn left on to the dirt road and drive to Ngondi Shopping Centre. Be Sure to turn right at this fork for a better road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/rfTKdamjxhQk6aev9) . Drive to Ngondi centre then take a left to Maiela Primary School.

Race Support
The race will have support points every 8km or less for hydration and fruits. For environmental reasons, we will recommend runners to come with a refillable running bottle or use the recyclable paper cups that will be available at the stations.
The Race will be supported by Ground 4X4 Crew.
Security
The route weaves through friendly community areas and sensitization will be done to ensure locals are aware of our presence.
Weather in Maiella, Naivasha
Maiela is in a highland zone with chances of cloud cover and cool weather expected most of the day. On sunny days it can get hot as the area is heavily deforested.

magical place of wonder will be the venue of R&R after the crazy elevation. You may also opt to
stay at any surrounding places in South Lake and North Lake as well and join us for the party.
