Ticking Off Turkana Eliye From Your Bucketlist

Day 1: 8th Dec: Nairobi to Eldoret to Saiwa Swamp
We begin the adventure with an early morning departure from Nairobi. Embark on a scenic towards Eldoret, a vibrant town located in the Rift Valley region of Kenya with a designated stop for Lunch. The journey takes you through the beautiful Kenyan countryside, with picturesque landscapes and charming rural settlements along the way.
After spending some time in Eldoret, it’s time to head towards Saiwa Swamp National Park the smallest national park in Kenya but boasts remarkable biodiversity and unique ecosystems. The park is renowned for being the only place in Kenya where you can find the rare Sitatunga antelope, a semi-aquatic species adapted to swampy habitats.
Dinner, Bonfire and overnight stay at Saiwa Camp.

Day 2: 9th Dec: Saiwa Swamp to Lodwar to Eliye Beach
Wake up refreshed and ready for the day. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the campsite prepared by our chef. Leaving Saiwa, embark on a scenic drive towards Turkwell Gorge. This stunning geological formation offers a dramatic sight with its steep cliffs and the flowing river below.
Take some time to explore the area and appreciate the impressive natural formations. You can walk along the edges of the gorge, capturing memorable photographs or simply enjoying the serenity of the surroundings.
We then proceed to Lodwar town and visit the Statue of Christ. Thereafter, proceed to Eliye Beach located on the shores of Lake Turkana. Our home for the night.

Day 3:10th Dec: Central Island
Rise up early at around 0600hrs to catch the sunrise over the lake. Later on depending on the tides of the lake, set out by Central Island National Park an exciting trip of slightly over an hour and a half on the jade-colored waters of the lake. Central Island is a very unique park in its own way. The island has three crater lakes, Turtle Lake, Tilapia Lake, and Crocodile Lake. Walking trails lead you around the island and to the highest elevation from where you enjoy stunning views over two of the crater lakes and majestic Lake Turkana.
The most stunning of all three crater lakes of Central Island National Park is home to tens of thousands of flamingos which can be seen as tiny white dots on the dark green water.
Return to the Resort for Lunch and an afternoon of relaxation on the pristine beach. Take a dip in the lake’s turquoise waters, unwind, or simply bask in the serenity of the area awaiting the beautiful sunset.

Day 4: 11th Dec: Eliye – Lodwar- Eldoret
After breakfast, embark on an exhilarating return drive from Eliye to Lodwar. The road will take you along the shores of Lake Turkana, Marvel at the volcanic formations, rocky cliffs, and the serene beauty of the lake itself.
The team Flying back to Nairobi will be left at Lodwar Airport.
The rest of the team continues with the drive to Eldoret, to arrive in the early evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at Naiberi River Resort.

Day 5: 12th Dec :Eldoret to Nairobi
Our trip ends today with great memories. After breakfast, we return to Nairobi with a designated stop for Lunch. To arrive in the evening.
