The Wilderness Trek; Longonot to Hells Gate
Available Date: 28th Jan 2023 | Any other private day
Grading: 17km Moderate Wilderness Trail.
Hike Summary
Some years ago Hells Gate and Longonot National Park used to be managed as one park. Despite the split, the two parks enjoy the same ecosystem with the movement of wildlife between the two areas via the Kedong game ranch.
This trail starts off from the Mt Longonot park gate. The first section is a steep staircase trail to the crater before going around the rim to the summit.
From here the trail descends down to the wilderness where you follow a scenic ridgeline to walk across to the Olkaria hills in Hells gate National Park.
For the off-beaten track lovers, this is the absolute wilderness long walk!
